Curve Finance goes live on Stellar in its first deployment outside the EVM
StableSwap was rebuilt from scratch for Stellar's Soroban smart contracts. FXSwap for cross-currency stablecoin pairs follows after its audit.

TL;DR
- Curve Finance launched StableSwap on Stellar mainnet on Oct. 29, 2026, its first native deployment outside the EVM ecosystem.
- The team rebuilt StableSwap from the ground up for Soroban with support from the Stellar Development Foundation, which asked Curve to deploy.
- The interface at stellar.curve.finance is in beta; swaps and deposits are live, starting with the first pool.
- FXSwap, for pairs such as a dollar and a euro stablecoin, comes after its audit; Curve has given no timeline.
Curve just left the EVM for the first time. Curve Finance launched its StableSwap AMM on Stellar mainnet on Oct. 29, 2026, its first native deployment outside the Ethereum Virtual Machine ecosystem, Curve, the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) and The Block reported.
Because Stellar does not run the EVM, Curve's Vyper contracts could not simply be copied over. The team rebuilt StableSwap from the ground up for Soroban, Stellar's smart-contract platform, with SDF support. "The math hasn't changed," Curve wrote.
Why Stellar
The SDF asked Curve to deploy, according to Curve. Founder Michael Egorov tied the move to institutional demand: "the demand for Curve is there, and it comes from institutions."
Stellar hosts Franklin Templeton's tokenized money market fund and MoneyGram moves money across it daily, per the SDF. Issuers can keep assets open or switch on KYC, clawback and sanctions controls. "Stablecoins and tokenized assets only deliver real value when people can move between them efficiently," said SDF CEO Denelle Dixon.
What is live
- Swaps and deposits at stellar.curve.finance, in beta, starting with the first pool.
- Permissionless pool creation; in-interface pool deployment comes next, Curve says.
- Fees work as on other Curve deployments, so swaps on Stellar also earn for the Curve DAO.
Curve calls it a "lite deployment" with the full Curve stack as the goal. It carries smart contract and depeg risk, Curve notes.
FXSwap is the bigger bet
FXSwap targets pairs whose prices move against each other, such as a dollar and a euro stablecoin, concentrating liquidity around the market price. Development is "almost complete" and the audit is next; Curve has not given a timeline or the first pairs. Stellar is Curve's "only non-EVM focus for the foreseeable future."
Curve has around $1.27 billion in total value locked, according to DeFiLlama data cited by The Block.
What it means for Web3 teams – Analysis
Liquidity follows regulated assets. A deep stablecoin pool on a chain built for issuers gives tokenized funds and stablecoins an exit and a liquidation venue, which is what lenders need before they accept collateral. Watch whether FXSwap brings real cross-currency volume; that is the onchain FX test. This is not investment advice.
