Web3 marketing best practices: what actually builds trust
Hype gets clicks. Proof gets capital. A short playbook for founders who want buyers, partners and investors to say yes.

TL;DR
- Lead with proof: product, team, audits, partners, real usage.
- Write for the skeptic: the allocator, the journalist, the compliance officer.
- Pick 2–3 channels and run them consistently instead of 10 at once.
- Every claim needs a source. Unverifiable claims cost trust and can create legal risk.
I have been in crypto since 2020 and written 2,000+ articles for 15+ clients. The same pattern repeats: projects with real substance lose deals because their marketing looks like everyone else's hype.
1. Proof before promise
- Show what exists: live product, docs, audits, team, partners.
- Put the proof above the fold. Not in a PDF nobody opens.
- Replace adjectives with facts. "Fast" means nothing. A benchmark with a link does.
2. Write for the skeptic
Your hardest reader is your most valuable one: a fund analyst, a BD lead, a journalist. If your homepage answers their first five questions, you win the call.
3. Fewer channels, done well
- X for speed and community.
- LinkedIn for founders, partners and institutional buyers.
- Earned media for credibility.
- KOLs only with fit, disclosure and tracking.
4. Claim-safe by default
No guaranteed returns. No "risk-free". No price predictions. Disclose paid promotions. Clean copy is cheaper than cleaning up later.
5. Measure what matters
Track booked calls, qualified wallets, partner intros and retention. Not impressions.
